The Uptown Monotones are an award winning Austrian band with explosive stage shows that always rocks the audience. They play fresh off beat songs, driving pop hits, totally unique cover versions and breath-taking electronic ‘ethno-inspired’ spontaneous performances.
What starts off as a classy folk concert quickly mutates into a rollicking clash of pulsating sound clouds that reverberates throughout the concert hall. The Uptown Monotones are known for consistently serving up musical surprises. Way-out, and yet strangely down-home …!
The Uptown Monotones | UK Tour 2017
The Uptown Monotones are back for a 5th consecutive UK tour after a barnstorming 2016 tour that saw them blow apart venues as far a field as Jersey, Guernsey and North Wales. Along with an open air gig at the BBC Media City plaza in Manchester, Dublin’s Grand Social and Galway’s famous Monroes – The Uptown Monotones culminated the tour with an awesome supporting slot to Jules Holland & his Rhythm and Blues band at the Cartmel races, the Lake District. The 2k17 tour is certainly not going to disappoint which opens with a supporting slot to Newton Faulkner, Wheatus and Tinchy Stryder at the LeeStock Music Festival in Suffolk on Saturday 27th May. Next comes a rapturous return to the fantastic Audlem Music Festival and then onto the Rock and Bowl Music Festival in Market Drayton all in the first three days. Manchester’s famous Night and Day cafe is next which has hosted performances by just about every famous band and artist to come out of Manchester over the years – this is then followed by a venue that certainly doesn’t need any introduction – that is the Cavern Club in Liverpool, a venue that is written into the history books of popular music culture. London’s famous Dublin Castle in Camden sees The Uptown Monotones first return to London since their first UK tour and concluding in a return to the famous Ty Coch Inn at Morfa Nefyn, North Wales for what will be an awesome beach gig at a venue that has been voted in the top 10 beach bars in the world. The 2017 tour is going to be epic – check out social media for tour highlights and make sure you catch the guys at a venue near you soon!
